The Old Magistrates Court is a Grade 2 listed building.
Built in 1910 and designed by architect Henry Beck in the English Baroque sytle, the exterior of the building features a leaded dome and expert stonework such as heavy conrnicing and pilasters.
Internally the building has a floor area of 4047 square feet and is set over 2 floors to provide a grand entrance, reception room, courtroom and judges’ chambers as well as a number of ancillary office rooms and toilet facilities.
The Old Magistrates Court benefits from having retained a number of it’s original period features such as historic cornicing, ornate plasterwork, Ionic columns, original stained glass windows, fireplaces and unique fixtures and fittings associated with the building’s former use.
